In response to last night’s BBC South report:

Leon Mekitarian, Managing Director for Crouchland Biogas said:

“Crouchland Farm is operating entirely within the law, and will continue to do so. Any allegation that the current importation of feedstock is ‘illegal’ is incorrect and demonstrates a lack of understanding of the planning process. There is no requirement for Crouchland to cease importing feedstock for use in the AD plant- until the planning appeal process has reached its conclusion.

“Crouchland is disappointed that some local objectors are resorting to the publication of misleading material, and in some cases trepass, in an attempt to gain support for their cause. We will do all we can to ensure these activities do not derail the lawful planning process.

“We shall continue to engage with the local planning authorities in advance of the inquiry next year, to safeguard the jobs of those we employ and the local suppliers who rely on us”.
